Current Status

Saskatchewan Polytechnic experienced a cybersecurity incident in late October, 2020, which disrupted our operating systems. IT Services  continues to resume services in a secure manner. This cautious, phased approach is proving successful with the majority of student services now available. There are still some exceptions and we thank you for your continued patience and understanding.

Campusupdate.ca provides information specifically related to the cybersecurity incident.

Saskpolytech.ca is available for students, prospective students and other interested parties. Some functions are not yet available. As functions are restored, they are visible and accessible.

What is Sask Polytech doing to minimize the extent of the impact?

UPDATED (Feb 10) The institute is making progress securely resuming services in order of priority.

New safety measures have been implemented for students and employees, including a system-wide reset for passwords and two-factor authentication. Sask Polytech requires students and employees to re-authenticate every seven days. Adaptive, next-generation antivirus and endpoint detection and response software has been installed on employee computers. Sask Polytech will continue to prioritize online security.

Is my personal information secure?

(Nov 6) Why is Sask Polytech doing Multi-Factor Authentication (MFA)

UPDATED (Nov 27) MFA is the industry leading, IT security method for protecting organizations. It limits the access or entry points that someone could have and in turn impact our systems. This is now mandatory in our attempt to prevent any further incidents.

(Nov 13) When can I register for Continuing Education courses?

UPDATED (Feb 10) Phone registration for CE courses is now available. The course catalogue of more than 750 credit, non-credit, part-time and GED courses is now available to help you plan your learning experience and prepare for registration. Thanks for your patience and continued support.

(Nov 13) I have assignments and exams in my online course. Will those be pushed back?

UPDATED (Jan 7) Your instructor will advise on any changes to assignments or exams.

(Nov 13) I would like to withdraw from my Continuing Education course and get a refund. Can I do that?

(Nov 13) I’ve been notified that my Continuing Education course is cancelled. When will I get a refund?

UPDATED (Jan 22) Cancellations and refunds are now being processed. No action is required on your part. If you receive notification that your course is cancelled, we ask that you do not login or attempt to attend class. Your refund will be processed automatically.

(Nov 19) I submitted a Document Request for transcript or parchment. How is this processed and payment sent?

UPDATED (Jan 7) Transcripts are now being processed. Transcripts from 1995 and forward, can be requested via your MySaskpolytech student portal. These requests are now issued the next business day. If you require a form to request your transcript, please access our forms here.

At this time, we are unable to process graduation documents. Please check this section of campusupdate.ca FAQs for further updates.

(Nov 19) I was offered a seat in a program but didn't download my letter (from Applicant tab, mySaskPolytech). Can I get a copy?

UPDATED (Jan 7) Electronic communications have been restored. Please check MyLetters, through my SaskPolytech, for all existing communication as well as any new communications.

(Nov 19) I am an international student. Can I defer my application?

UPDATED (Dec 23) International students with a January start date are eligible to defer their application. Please make your request via the deferral form.

(Nov 19) Do you have my documents?

UPDATED (Jan 18) Enrolment Services’ processing times are delayed. All documents received by email or mail are currently being processed. Please contact us and we will respond as soon as we are able. For transcripts being sent electronically from the Saskatchewan Ministry of Education, this system is now available. Transcripts sent between end of October and January 13 have been completed. This process will now happen daily.

(Jan 13) I need a copy of a previous years T2202A tax form. How do I get a copy?

The ability to view previous tax forms has been restored within your mySaskPolytech student portal. The T2202 form is located within the main student portal under Enrolment Services – “Access all Enrolment Services online services” and Canadian Tax Forms. An FAQ also exists to help answer some general questions related to your education and the taxation year.

(Feb 4) Will I have to pay tuition when I register for CE courses?

UPDATED (Feb 10) Yes, we will require payment by credit card.

(Feb 4) How long will it take to find out if I get accepted into the CE course when I register?

You will receive an email within one to two days of registering.

(Feb 4) The CE course I want to take isn’t listed in the course catalogue. Do you offer this course?

The course may not be running due to COVID-19 restrictions or instructor availability. Please keep watching the course catalogue for new courses being added in the next few months. If you need more information, email ConEd@saskpolytech.ca who can assist in answering your question.

(Feb 4) What if I don’t get into the CE course? Will you be offering more courses?

We are monitoring this and will be offering more courses where there is high demand. This information will be shared on saskpolytech.ca and on social media. You can follow us on social media.

(Feb 4) I need to know if I qualify for a student loan with the number of courses I plan to take?

There is a course calculator on saskpolytech.ca to assist in determining if students qualify for student loans based on the number of courses they plan to take.

(Feb 8) I have tried calling to register for a Continuing Education course and can’t get through. What do I do?

There are high call volumes as registration has not been available for about three months due to the cybersecurity incident. We regret the delays and ask that you keep trying.

(Feb 8) If I don’t get accepted, when will you refund the tuition I paid?

Refunds will be processed in as timely a manner as possible but may take up to 4 - 6 weeks to process.

(Feb 8) I tried to register in a course, but it is full. Will you be offering more course sections?

We are monitoring the demand and will be offering more course sections where we are able. Check saskpolytech.ca and follow us on social media. We will be sharing additional course information there.

(Feb 9) I submitted an application for student awards and haven’t heard anything. When will recipients be selected?

UPDATED (Mar 1) Saskatchewan Polytechnic has disbursed the Fall 2020 awards which included 400 scholarships totalling approximately $425,000.

Successful candidates who applied for student awards in the fall awards cycle were notified by email in February.

(Mar 8) How do I pay for the materials I have already received from the bookstore?

 For course materials shipped while our payment system was unavailable, payment is now due. To pay for your previously shipped course materials:

  1. Select the campus bookstore you received your order from below to re-enter your original order form(s) for your already received course materials.  
  2. You will be prompted to set up a new login (This login is separate from your mySaskpolytech login)
  3. Use the dropdown menu to add your course materials one at a time. Take time to ensure that your entries match your already received course materials.
  4. In the comments field, please note “already received items.”
  5. Enter your payment details and click “submit.” A receipt will be provided once your payment has been processed. 
    • If you are paying online through your bank, at payment method, choose A/R CHARGE and enter online banking.
    • If your sponsor is paying, at payment method, choose drop down A/R CHARGE, enter sponsor name.
    • If you placed multiple orders, you can enter them as a single order when you make payment. You will be charged a shipping fee based on the total combined amount of all your orders.

Saskatchewan Polytechnic thanks all students who have already received course materials and could not make payment for taking the extra steps now to pay for your course materials.

(Mar 8) How long do I have to pay for the materials I have already received?

Students have 14 calendar days to make payment. After 14 days, your account will be put on hold. This means you will be unable to order transcripts, graduate from your program or register for additional courses or programs.

(Mar 8) What if I don’t remember everything I ordered from the bookstore?

Please email the campus bookstore you received your order from with the subject line: “already received items.” In the body of the email, include your name, student ID number and the program or courses for which you ordered materials. Saskatchewan Polytechnic will follow up by email.
